I had hip surgery on January 5th and have been unable to sew. I am finally off crutches and ready to get back to it!
I am going to be attending Costume College for the first time this year, and there's a group called the Butt Ugly Brigade, where we make gowns that are period appropriate using any kind of crazy fabric we want, without worrying about "historically correct" or "period accurate".
I love cats. And space. So I started looking for cats in space fabric, and found a wonderful quilting cotton at Joann's.
I was pondering on patterns I already own, and remembered that I'd bought the Past Patterns Polonaise from my friend Karin, so I'm going to make that.
For the ruffled under skirt, I am going to use only fabrics I already have in stash. I have some blue moire left over from the butterfly gown, and some pale green satin, so those will do nicely for starters.
I'm going to do my mock-up this weekend!
